Degu and her mother Kalalitu and her sister Tirfe are in desperate need of a home. Greg and Greg were able to visit them on the most recent trip and found them homeless and living in one of the market stalls which they have to vacate during market times. You can imagine the unsafe situation this puts a mom and her two girls into. The team along with the social workers and local government officials listened to their story.
Later that day one of the local government officials called and said that, if Hawassa Hope can build them a home, the local government would provide the land to put it on! This is amazing news and we are so excited about getting this family into a safe place and proper home.
To build her a home with a steel roof and provide items for basic necessities, we need $3000.
Take a moment to scroll through the pictures below to see their current living circumstances.
We are also placing this family into our sponsorship program. If you’d like to be their sponsor for $30 a month, just sign up below.
Another housing situation the last team encountered was one of our newly admitted families into the program.
Little Endrias’s story is one of pain and hardship already throughout his young life. His mother loves him dearly and does her best to care for him but circumstances and stigma has made that very difficult for her. The hut that they currently live in is not safe for them against people, animals or the weather.
To build them a new hut with needed basic supplies will be $2,000.
Take a moment to scroll through the pictures below to see their need and their smiles in spite of it all.
Thank you for being hope with Hawassa Hope in Ethiopia!
