ABOUT HAWASSA HOPE

FOCUS AND STRATEGY

Hawassa Hope’s efforts in Ethiopia are focused on vulnerable children and their families. Our goal is to keep families together and ensure access to education for their children, and to help families achieve financial independence through vocational training and initial financial support.

We work in Hawassa and the surrounding areas in the Sidama region of Ethiopia to provide for the basic needs of children and families. We currently work in 14 different places going out around 4 hours into different communities. We have built our own  children’s home near Hawassa City that cares for children while local adoptive families are sought.

Depending on where and how a family lives, assistance is tailored to their specific needs and includes food, education, clothing, access to medical support and spiritual support.

OUR INITIATIVES

Our initiatives  include:

-Support of a children’s home as they look for local foster/ adoptive families for children and reunify when possible.
